By how excited I am that Violet pooped in the toilet!!!! And I wasn't even a witness to it. I took a very necessary nap today, and Jared was on duty (haha, I made a funny). We bought the necessary toilet things a couple weeks ago, minus the little potty, because I don't do that stuff no mo'. I took her into the bathroom a billion times a day in the hopes of catching the elusive pee pee and therefore helping her connect the dots. "Oh I do that in the potty!" Ah the life of a mom... Instead it turned into play-with-the-toilet-paper-wipe-and-say-all-done time. I will be honest. I gave up this week. She was just not ready. And there is no way panties will fit her tiny toosh. So I was resolving to wait until at least panties would fit.
Cue my lovely nap time. I heard Jared mention the word potty. Noises in the bathroom. Then I heard Jared say, "Are you pooping?" followed by Violet's enthusiastic "Yeah!" and then Jared's "DEB, you have to come here!" Um, you liked that whole scenario build up, yeah? Anyways. I reluctantly got out of bed thinking Jared was going to say, "your turn to change the diaper" when the big news was revealed to me. Jared said she came up to him and said, "poop", which is not too uncommon in this household...it's just a funny word! And then she walked to the bathroom and said potty. This is where it is good Jared was on doody...see what I did there? Because I had fully given up and would have just gone straight to the changing table. Thank goodness for Dad's who have not had the joy of sitting in the bathroom with fruitless results. So yep. Violet pooped. And I blogged about it. At least I didn't take a picture...
Clancy and I just talked about how fun it is to get excited about maggie peeing in the toilet and curtis burping:) Maggie still hasn't pooped in the toilet...I'm very jealous right now!
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of her. Even though that means she's getting even more grown up. Good thing Jared was doing his doody. Haha doody.
ReplyDeleteAh, I am so jealous! Katelyn will sit on the toilet and do nothing! So frustrating....but such is the life of a mom.
ReplyDeleteI love it, and seriously it is the little things...like a poop in the potty!
ReplyDeleteSeriously it's the little things like a little fecal matter floating in the porcelain throne that can make the day awesome! Your efforts were not in vain, Jared just got the lucky connection while you, my dear, were taking a lovely nap ;) You two make an great team!
